SALOON - Malaysian Style

What would a foreigner get if he enters a 'saloon' in Malaysia? He will get his hair done. Yes! But the problem is that the foreigner actually intended to get intoxicated or drunk. That is one of the wonders of Malaysia: Malaysian English. If we go anywhere in Malaysia, we will get to see the word 'saloon' in front of premises pertained to hair, facial and body treatment. The correct usage should therefore be 'salon'. This is because a 'saloon' is a bar where people go to get drunk, just like what the foreigner had in mind. Even the pronunciation of the two words differ. So after this, don't go around making a fool of yourself. Adios...
